MIS Department Mission Statement Dedicated to providing a high-level of technical expertise to the various City departments responsible for supplying dependable services and cost-effective solutions to the citizens of the City of Canton in an age of constant technological change.

The Management Information Systems ((MIS)) Department is under the supervision of the Mayor's Office. They provide software services and hardware/technical support to offices throughout the City. A Systems Planning Board representing departments oversees departmental priorities on an advisory basis. The development staff works with several operating systems, databases, and programming languages to provide analysis, development and maintenance of application software . The technical staff provides computer hardware support (servers, PCs, printers, etc) and administers the City's wide area network, allowing an efficient, safe and secure means of sharing computer information.
